Ahead of the Curve

Ashlyn Ball

You were homeschooled with your sister, Kaitlyn, and graduated with her? How old were you when you graduated?

Yes, I completed school with my older sister, Kaitlyn. When I graduated high school, I had just turned 16.

You’ll be one of our younger graduates, how does it feel to have a head start like that?

It’s kind of fun, but also a little scary to know that I’m ahead, but mostly fun because I do everything with my sister and we get to go through college together, too.

You’re undeclared, but do you have any plans for the future yet?

Right now I’m undeclared and I haven’t really decided what I want to do, but, I’m leaning toward teaching music. That or some sort of missionary work.

Do you feel like you’re receiving the support you need to reach your goals?

I feel that I’ve received a lot of support since I got here. So far, in all the classes that we have taken, the teachers have helped us and want us to succeed. Also, the KEYS support staff has really helped us.

Do you feel like you’re benefitting from starting college at a younger age?

I think I am going to benefit a lot from starting sooner because I’ll be able to get to where I want to be sooner.
