Yuma, AZ (March 20, 2023) – Two Arizona Western College art majors recently received scholarships from the Arizona Artists Guild for their ceramic work.
Belsy Trigueros was the recipient of the Arizona Clay Association Scholarship for $1,000 and Cesar Duarte earned the Erin O’Dell Scholarship for $1,000.

AWC art student places first in local art, poetry contest
April 15, 2019Yuma, AZ (April 15, 2019) – The City of San Luis hosted the Harvesting Hope Art and Poetry Contest that concluded on March 23, 2019. AWC student, Jose Fimbres, took home first place in the college/university category for his portrait of Cesar Chavez. Jose is an art major and a member of the Art Curiosity and Secrets Art Club at AWC’s San Luis Learning Center.

Hispanic Heritage Art Exhibition earns national achievement award for Yuma County
May 31, 2018Call for submissions to begin in August for 2018 exhibit
Yuma, AZ (May 29, 2018) – Yuma County received a national achievement award for the Hispanic Heritage Art Exhibition “Origins” put on by the San Luis Library and Arizona Western College San Luis Learning Center. The exhibit is held annually at the San Luis Library in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The National Association of Counties (NACo) recognized Yuma County with the award, which honors innovative, effective county government programs that enhance services for residents.
