A new industry certification at Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College allows individuals to obtain an industry certification as an EKG Technician in under 12 weeks. With classes starting on June 2, students are encouraged to apply.
At the 2025 Commencement ceremony on May 16th, three Arizona Western College students celebrated a very special night for their family. Maria Molina, an AWC employee, and her daughter and son celebrated the completion of their associate degrees on the same night. The triple graduation highlighted AWC’s commitment to diverse, accessible pathways that support students at every stage of their journey.
Arizona Western College’s Reetika Dhawan was recently awarded the Community Champion Award by the Institution for Digital Inclusion Acceleration (IDIA), recognizing her for her leadership in workforce development and contribution to Arizona’s digital economy.
Last week, Arizona Western College recognized 28 fourth-semester nursing students as they were the first AWC class to be inducted into the Iota-Theta chapter of the OADN Honor Society. The honor society recognizes students for academic excellence and commitment to the nursing profession.
Arizona Western College is pleased to announce the opening of our very own merch store, “Matador Merch,” which stocks AWC apparel, gifts, and more, all exclusively designed by AWC graphic designers. This week only, the store will have updated hours to allow for last-minute graduation shopping.
The newly established San Luis Learners Toastmasters Club at the Arizona Western College San Luis Learning Center is helping students gain confidence through public speaking training. This week, the club will celebrate its official charter with Toastmasters International, and is inviting the public to the Charter Ceremony on Thursday, May 15, to learn more about the what the club has to offer.
Fall registration has opened! This Fall, take classes in Fortinet Cybersecurity to gain skills in security configuration, protect networks against viruses and external attacks, and troubleshoot Fortinet operational technology.
From May 19-24, Yuma will be home to the 2025 NCJAA Division I Softball World Series, hosted by Arizona Western College, the City of Yuma, Caballeros de Yuma, and Visit Yuma. In preparation of the large event, volunteers are being sought to assist with game statistics, ticket sales, music, and welcoming the visiting teams to Yuma.
