AWC Manufacturing Summer Camp One

Session One

Monday, June 14, 2021

9:00am—10:00am: Welcome students. Introductions. Brief walking tour of
the AWC campus to discuss restroom locations, emergency exits and
evacuation plan. Classroom and Lab safety rules. Wearing PPE during class.
Maintaining a respectful learning environment.
10:00 am break: Each day the class will take a morning snack break.
10:15 am to 12:00 pm: Orientation to the world of 3D design and creation.
Students will participate in a discussion and orientation to how a 3D printer
works. Students will assemble out of the box a 3D printer to be used in the
class similar to the one already assembled ahead of time Students will be able
to select a print project from a menu of project options provided by the instructor
for subsequent sessions.

Session Two, Three, Four

June 15th - 17, 2021

9:00 am to 10:00 am: Students working in small teams will use the
computers provided to begin to design a basic print project. Over the coming
sessions the students and the instructor will design, create, and print their
project.
10:00 am break: Each day the class will take a morning snack break.
10:15 am to 12:00 pm: Students will continue to collaborative team
experience with the instructor as they learn how 3D printing design and
production platforms work.
Session Four Wrap Up (June 17th): Students will wrap up their summer
camp by writing a brief in class essay about what they learned and how this
summer camp experience has helped them to consider career options in
manufacturing. A class photo will be taken and individual photos of the
students and their projects. A certificate of “Manufacturing Camp” completion
will be awarded to the students.

All 4 forms need to be signed and turned in at time of registration:
(1) Registration Ticket (2) Underage Form (3) Informed Consent (4) COVID Waiver
Students must be Freshman/Sophomores* and admitted to AWC, NO EXCEPTIONS!
