Our Recruitment & Outreach team is here to promote AWC to the local and regional schools and communities. We conduct informational presentations at local K-12 schools and community organizations, participate in college fairs and other community and educational events, and represent AWC in various ways. Meet Our Team
The Matador Ambassador Program is a diverse and dynamic team of leaders dedicated to representing, promoting, and serving Arizona Western College. We strive to uphold the integrity of AWC by creating a positive first and lasting impression. As part of the Admissions, Recruitment, and Outreach team, we help to encourage prospective students to make AWC their school of choice.
Visit us at the Ask-an-Ambassador desk on the top floor of the 3C! We can assist with admission applications, account activation, registration, drop-in tours, campus maps, and general questions.
What We Do
Matador Ambassadors receive the training and guidance to help develop skills that are used to attract and prospective students and provide encouragement for new students. We participate in events and activities that help promote AWC including:
- Campus Tours
- College Fairs
- School Visits and Classroom Presentations
- Campus and Community Events
- Ground-Breaking and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremonies
- Ask-an-Ambassador Desk Assistance
Matador Ambassadors are given various opportunities to develop and demonstrate their unique leadership skills. In order to further develop these skills and build a strong sense of communication and teamwork, we:
- Complete a 3-credit Leadership Exploration course in the first semester as an Ambassador
- Attend weekly meetings
- Attend week-long Ambassador training prior to each semester
- Participate in campus-wide leadership training and activities
- Maintain high academic standards
- Uphold the AWC Code of Conduct
- Gain an in-depth knowledge of AWC
Be an Ambassador
So you want to be an Ambassador? Great! We accept application in the spring (March/April) of each year for the following academic year.
|Training||Training is conducted through a week-long summer program along with a 3-credit Leadership Exploration course. Training will empower and enable you to help promote the values of AWC, understand the programs and services offered, successfully conduct campus tours, answer general questions about AWC, and lots more!|

Be prepared to build your self-esteem and self-confidence, become part of a team, network with campus administrators and community members, develop outstanding presentation and leadership skills, and be recognized because of your work!|
