Becoming a Matador Ambassador is a great opportunity to serve as part of the outreach and recruitment team at AWC, promote AWC to prospective students, and serve alongside a dynamic and diverse team of student leaders dedicated to creating a positive impact on the AWC community!

Qualifications:

  • Be a current or incoming AWC student with a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours* with at least 2 semesters remaining at AWC
  • Be available for meetings on Tuesdays at 3:30pm (no exceptions)
  • Have a positive personality, enthusiasm about your campus, and the ability to contribute as part of a team
  • Have a sincere desire to represent Arizona Western College

Matador Ambassadors are eligible to receive the Matador Ambassador Scholarship of up to $500 per semester. *Students receiving the scholarship must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

Responsibilities:

Attend required number of high school recruitment events; give campus tours to a range of age groups; engage in the planning and implementation of events such as fundraising, college fairs, recruiting events, and other campus events; attend required number of community events, special AWC ceremonies and receptions; work 3 hours per week at the Welcome Center.

Application Process

Members of the Matador Ambassador Program will be selected based on qualifications, unique qualities, abilities, and a panel interview to form a diverse team that will be able to collaborate and accept a commitment to enhance the qualities, services, and reputation of AWC. Application DEADLINE is Thursday, May 9, 2019.
