Google IT Support Professional Certificate

The Google IT Support Professional Certificate, an online training program developed by Google and hosted by Arizona Western College, teaches interested individuals the skills needed to start a career in IT support, which is one of the fastest-growing fields in the U.S.

This program is a part of Grow with Google, an initiative that ensures opportunities created by technology are available to everyone. Hosted by the Coursera online learning platform, the Google IT Support Professional Certificate is designed to teach individuals the skills needed for entry-level IT support positions. No prior IT experience is necessary. The program includes five courses, each with a dynamic mix of video lectures, quizzes, and hands-on labs and widgets. Individuals will learn about troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration, and security.

The Google IT Support Professional Certificate prepares you for an entry-level job in IT support in under six months. No experience is necessary.

Technical Support Fundamentals

This course covers a wide variety of topics, and it is designed to give an overview of what’s to come in the Google IT Support Professional Certificate coursework.

The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking

Covers everything from the fundamentals of modern networking technologies and protocols to practical applications and network troubleshooting.

Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User

How to use Windows and Linux, including the main components of an operating system and how to perform critical tasks

System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services

This course will transition learners from working on one computer at a time to working with a whole fleet of computers

IT Security: Defense Against the Digital Dark Arts

This course covers a wide variety of IT security concepts, tools, and best practices.

Completers will receive an e-certificate from Coursera upon completion of the certificate program, which will include badges for each course and a URL unique to each completer.

Participants will not be on their own through this journey. Even though participants may proceed at their own pace, Arizona Western College will:

  • Provide virtual ‘lab time’ and small group activities via Zoom each month,
  • Provide instructional support by qualified faculty to monitor learners and provide proactive coaching,
  • Celebrate milestone success,
  • Address personal barriers to help participants reach their goals.

Program Cost

For a limited number of students, the Google IT Support Professional Certificate will be offered free of cost if you register for a class no later than June 29th! Take advantage of this $300 savings now to increase your knowledge and skills for new job opportunities or for personal growth.

Participants have just under 3 months to complete the certificate but may complete the certificate as quickly as they can successfully achieve each of the course goals.

Program Requirements

Participants will need access to a computer with internet access and a webcam. Participants will also be required to upload images of a government issued ID card in the Coursera learning system.
