QPR Suicide Prevention & Awareness Training to be held at AWC

March 15, 2019

Yuma, AZ (March 15, 2019) – Arizona Western College’s Health and Wellness Department will be hosting a QPR Suicide Prevention and Awareness Training on Wednesday, March 20.

The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer - three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life.

“This is an especially important topic at the college level, as rates of suicide are at an all-time high for young people,” said Health and Wellness Coordinator Christine Rouff. “Quality education empowers people, regardless of background, to make a positive impact and a difference in the life of someone they know.”

The free training is open to the community and will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Frances Morris Boardroom, located in the 3C Building of the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.

To participate in the free training, RSVP by email at Health.Wellness@azwestern.edu or call (928) 317-6067. Space is limited.
