Yuma, AZ (April 15, 2019) – Arizona Western College will induct the 1983 and 1987 championship softball teams along with late head coach Charlie Dine into the AWC Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 20, 2019. The day’s events will start at 10:00 a.m. on the Yuma Campus in the Frances Morris Board Room (3C). The itinerary begins with introductions and an awards ceremony followed by a campus tour leading to the Charlie Dine Softball Field for an AWC softball double header.
Yuma, AZ (April 15, 2019) – Arizona Western College is now offering new payment plan options for students through Nelnet. Students who sign up for a payment plan before May 31, 2019 can sign up for 0% down and equal monthly payments for fall registration. Those who sign up after May 31, 2019 pay only 10% down and equal monthly payments for fall registration. A $25 fee is required up front for either option.
Yuma, AZ (April 15, 2019) – Each year Arizona Western College students compete in the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) Student Mathematics League national competition. More than 165 college participate in the competition, which includes a very challenging exam. Brett Peterson, AWC Professor of Mathematics, states, “The questions are designed to be challenging and require higher order thinking as opposed to memorization.”
Yuma County, AZ – The Four Borders International Academic Alliance (Alliance), an alliance of colleges, universities, and technical schools from the United States and Mexico celebrated its 2nd Anniversary on March 29, 2019 at the Arizona Western College Schoening Conference Center. As part of this celebration, an additional 7 new Alliance members signed on to the original Memorandum of Understanding that created the Alliance.
