Club SOTE's Mission
To develop leadership skills and experiences by working as a team, getting involved and serving the community, while gaining friendships through education.
What is Club SOTE?
Club S.O.T.E. is a volunteer, student-lead organization that falls under the direction of the KEYS Program. Club S.O.T.E.'s function as a college leadership club here at AWC is to learn, develop and grow as student leaders through planning, hosting and organizing a wide variety of events and activities, both on campus and the local community.
How do you join Club SOTE?
If you are an AWC student AND a participant of the KEYS Program, then you must:
1. Contact the club advisors - You can email the club advisors, Laura Shepherdat laura.shepherd@azwestern.edu, Carlos Ramos at carlos.ramos@azwestern.edu, or you can call the front desk at 928-344-7761, and let them know that you are interested in joining. The advisors or front desk will then inform you of the time, date and location of Club S.O.T.E.'s nexting meeting.
2. Complete a Student Leadership Interest Form - click here for form, and submit form to club advisor(s).
3. Attend the next Club SOTE meeting - By attending club meetings, you'll have the advantage of observing what club discusses. Please keep in mind that meeting times, dates and locations may change from semester to semester due to the club member's availability for that particular semester.

4. Be welcomed to the club and start participating - Once you've attended a meeting, the members will welcome you and invite you to begin participating in their meetings and functions. Once you have attended 3 meetings, you will be invited to participate as a Voting Member! You can help the Board to decide on Club fund expenditures and other business!
Who can join Club SOTE?
In order to join Club SOTE, you have to be enrolled at AWC, be a participant of the KEYS Program AND maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
In addition, a student who is interested in joining Club SOTE has to also be able to work as a team, as all of Club SOTE's events and activities require a team effort.
You must also maintain a positive attitude. As a member of Club SOTE, you are an AWC student leader, and therefore a representative of not only Club SOTE and the KEYS Program, but also and most importantly, a representative of Arizona Western College.
