Keep Envisioning Your Success
Welcome to the Student Support Services - KEYS Program!
The Student Support Services - KEYS Program is a federally-funded TRIO program that provides opportunities for academic development, assists studetns with basic college requirements, and motivates students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary degree.
The main goal of the SSS - KEYS Program is to increase the college retention, graduation, and transfer rates of first-generation, low-income, and disabled students.
The SSS - KEYS Program is funded to serve 240 students each year that meet the eligibility criteria and who have a desire for academic success.
A MESSAGE TO OUR STUDENTS
Often it takes only a little extra help to make your college experience more successful. The KEYS staff can help you identify new ways to get the most out ofyour classes or improve your current study habits. We can also assist students in identifying opportunities and resources available at AWC, in the community, and at other colleges and universities that will aid you in meeting educational and career goals.
If you are having trouble meeting the requirements of college classes, or are not satisfied with the grades you are earning, we may be able to help you. The staff cares and wants to help you realize your full potential.
The mission of the SSS - KEYS Program is to retain, graduate, and/or transfer students, who are historically under-represented in higher education, to four-year universities in good academic standing. We work toward our mission with support services provided by our committed staff who are personable and empathetic to student needs and who believe in the power of education. Program participants are provided with necessary guidance, encouragement, tools and resources to take ownership of their educational goals through services that are culturally sensitive, individualized, and rewarding.
The SSS - KEYS Program's goal is to provide students with assistance that will increase their chances of graduating from college or transferring to a university. The SSS - KEYS staff works closely with each student to determine each individual's area of need and to develop a strategy to meet that need. These services, funded through the U.S. Department of Education, will be available to students until they graduate or transfer to another college or university.
