Maria Elena Cruz
Attorney at Law
AWC was my first exposure to higher education. For someone like me who was not expected to go to college, AWC provided me with an easier transition into college life. No matter how difficult big campus life seemed at first, it encouraged me to know I was halfway to my degree from the time I set foot at the university. AWC gave me a head start, and the reduced tuition made the financial responsibility after graduation easier to bear. Overall, AWC was a window to a world of opportunities for me.
Dr. Robert Garcia
Physician
Arizona Western College was the turning point in my life. In 1972, I was 18 years old and working in the fields near the college, driving a tractor and tilling the ground. I couldn't help but to turn around and look at this beautiful college and hope that one day I would have the opportunity to attend Arizona Western College. Finally, I was able to start my education and then continued on to complete my medical degree. I believe that this is the best way to start your education, at our local Arizona Western College.
David Platt
Pharmacist
I attended Arizona Western College from the fall of 1972 through the spring of 1974. While at AWC, I majored in Pre-Pharmacy. Attending the College allowed me to stay in Yuma following high school, while not compromising my goal of becoming a Pharmacist. After I completed my first two years of college at home, I then transferred to a University and finish my professional education. I am now the owner and Pharmacist of Kachina Pharmacy, right here in Yuma.
