 Our Mission

To assist people in pursuit of their goals using a holistic approach that enhances their future plans and maximizes their potential for success.

 New Students

New students who have declared a major and students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution, please click here for a list of advisors in your field of study.

Continuing Students

Continuing degree seeking students do not need to meet with an Academic advisor or Academic counselor if they have met the prerequisites for their next courses and have not changed their Academic Plan. For your convenience, you can register online through Web Advisor, or in person at any of our locations.

 Undecided Students

Counseling and Advisement Services assists in the planning of a program of study for the student, but the ultimate responsibility for meeting the requirements for graduation rests with the student.

Transfer Students

An Academic counselor or Academic advisor has a current copy of the Arizona "Course Equivalency Guide" or the student can review the grid online at http://az.transfer.org/cas/. This guide helps the student determine the equivalency and transferability of AWC courses to the three Arizona Universities. For more information, contact Martha Cordova.

With the help of an advisor you may:

  • Be provided information regarding the nature and purpose of higher education
  • Understand and utilize placement test results
  • Receive an unofficial evaluation of transfer credits
  • Define and refine educational goals and objectives, and understand the consequences of alternative courses of action
  • Be encouraged to become an active participant in your educational planning and college life
  • Become aware of transfer issues
  • Make appropriate course, certificate, and degree selections
  • Receive accurate verbal and written information on majors and program requirements
