Applying for 2010-2011
Federal Student Financial Aid

FINANCIAL AID DEADLINES

PRIORITY FALL SEMESTER FAFSA DUE: APRIL 15, 2010
2010-2011 FAFSA Available Here

Priority processing and aid consideration is given to those students who apply for financial aid by our stated priority deadlines.

2010-2011 Pell Grant Schedule

Students wishing to apply for federal student aid at Arizona Western College for the 2010/2011 school year are first advised to obtain their U.S. Department of Education PIN at pin.ed.gov. The PIN serves as an electronic signature for Federal financial aid and provides access to Federal financial aid records.

Once the PIN is obtained, complete the 2010/2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Renewal FAFSA.

In addition to the FAFSA, students may be asked to submit, directly to the Office of Financial Aid, a signed copy of their 2009 year federal income tax return and any other requested materials. This may be due to being selected for verification.  Priority deadlines are listed below.
Summer Semester: May 13, 2010
Fall Semester: July 8th, 2010
Any paperwork submitted after this date will  be considered officially late.  After these listed dates, we will not be able to guarantee that financial aid monies will be available before the beginning of the semester.

In order to be eligible for federal student assistance, the student must be either a citizen or eligible non-citizen of the United States with a valid Social Security Number. In general, students must be classified as degree seeking to participate in the federal aid programs and be enrolled on at least a half-time basis. Additionally, students may not owe a refund on a federal student grant, nor be in default on a federal student loan.

For those students who apply for financial assistance, the Office of Financial Aid will provide a Financial Aid Award Letter outlining the student's eligibility for financial assistance. Students are asked to notify the Office of Financial Aid of the receipt of any financial assistance beyond that outlined on the Award Letter.
