REGISTRATION

Students are to register as designated in the College Calendar and in the manner specified in the Class Schedule.

To be eligible to register, each student must have completed all the admission requirements and have met the prerequisites (PRE) and/or co-requisites (COREQ) listed in the Course Description section of the Catalog.

Most of the classes available at AWC can be registered for online. However, certain classes require you to register in person.

Registration Form

You and your academic Advisor review the Class Schedule, select a number of courses, and then enter the information from the Class Schedule onto the registration form. You then take the form to the Enrollment Services Office where your choices of courses are processed.

Academic Class/Course Load

Full-time status is defined as being enrolled for 12 or more credits in any given semester. The normal academic load, for a program to be completed in two years, is defined as 15-16 credits per semester. Enrollment in 19-20 credit hours require the permission of an academic counselor or advisor. Enrollment in more than 21 credits requires the permission of the Dean of Student Retention or designee. Most degree programs require the completion of 64 credits.

Adds and Drops

Students may revise their programs by dropping classes and/or adding any classes that are open during the designated add/drop period or as specified by the Dean for Enrollment Services. Classes dropped during the add/drop period will not appear on the student's grade report or transcript. Students withdrawing from class(es) after the add/drop period must follow withdrawal procedures.

Withdrawals

Students may withdraw from one or more classes and receive a grade of "W" on their official academic record after the designated add/drop period and through the first three quarters of the course, or as specified by the Dean for Enrollment Services. Students who are withdrawing from classes must see the Advisement Services Office prior to submitting the "Withdrawal Form" to Enrollment Services. Students who are totally withdrawing from AWC must obtain signature from the Business Office before submitting the "Withdrawal Form" to the Admissions & Registration Office; and subsequently may be eligible for a prorated refund of registration, matriculation, tuition, and special fees according to published refund criteria.
