Alicia Nelson

Alicia is a freshman at AWC and a first-year Ambassador  majoring in Administration of Justice. She chose AWC because it offers quality education without the high cost of a university. It's a very close-knit school and everyone knows everyone.

Her interests include hanging out with friends, music, family, reading, and attending sporting events.

 Alma Gonzalez

Alma is a sophomore at AWC and a second-year Ambassador majoring in Business. She is a graduate of San Luis High School. She chose AWC because it is near her community, family, and friends, but still gives her a great opportunity to grow as an individual and professional.

Her interests include family, friends, and enjoying life and taking the best of it.

Alma says, "Enjoy the moment you are living in, appreciate what you have, and love what you do because it is the basis for your life."

 Brenda Valenzuela

 Brenda is a sophomore at AWC and a first-year Ambassador majoring in Business. She is a graduate of Cibola High School. She chose AWC because it was a great place for her to start her education and offered great opportunities.

Her interests include music, dancing, friends, family, reading, and being helpful.

Brenda says, "All dreams come true, you just need to set goals, look to the future, and try your hardest. Never be afraid to take an extra step and never give up on your dreams."

Candy Millan

Candy is a sophomore at AWC and a first-year Ambassador majoring in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She is a graduate of Yuma High School. She chose AWC because she wanted to get an Associate Degree in Education before going on to a university.

Her interests include scrapbooking and volunteering her time to those who need it.

Candy quotes," Life isn't measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away."

She says, "Never live life in regrets, have fun, and I hope to see you around campus!"

Carlos Ramos

Carlos is a sophomore at AWC and a second-year Ambassador majoring in Philosophy.

 

 

 

 

 

George Yanez

George is a sophomore at AWC and a second-year Ambassador majoring in Biology. He is a graduate of Yuma High School. He chose AWC because of its affordable education, great support system, financial support, and the partnership with NAU.

His interests include being family oriented, community service driven, and school spirited.

George quotes, "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." ~Robert Lollier

 

Karen Peralta

Karen is a sophomore at AWC and a second-year Ambassador majoring in Biology. She is a graduate of Yuma High School. She chose AWC to begin her education and earn her Associate degree before going on to the University of Arizona.

Her interests include working out, playing volleyball, being a Matador Ambassador, getting involved, community service, and reading.

Karen quotes, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you always imagined." ~Thoreau

Lexi Alka

Lexi is a freshman at AWC and a first-year Ambassador majoring in Nursing. She is a graduate of Yuma High School. She chose AWC because it is a small community that anyone can feel at home in. Everyone is so friendly and so helpful that it makes your experiences worthwhile.

Her interests include singing, talking to new people, and reading.

Lexi says, "If you see me around campus, say 'Hi', and if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!"

 Maria Guerrero

Maria is a freshman at AWC and a first-year Ambassador majoring in Education. She is a graduate of Kofa High School. She chose AWC because it is a great school with many opportunities and activities that make your studies fun and successful, and because of the preparation to transfer to a university.

Her interests include being involved in school, church, leadership, and community service activities.

Maria says, "Hey everyone! If you every need help and see me around, feel free to ask!"

 

Mariana Hernandez

Mariana is a sophomore at AWC and a second-year Ambassador majoring in Biology. She is a graduate of Yuma High School. She chose AWC because it offers great educational opportunities at a university-level, with a community college price.

Her interests include community outreach events and reading.

Mariana quotes, "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you."

 

Marisela Cardenas

Marisela is a sophomore at AWC and a first-year Ambassador majoring in Spanish/Secondary Education. She is a graduate of San Luis High School. She chose AWC because it is a great college that will provide her with the knowledge and experience to achieve her future goals.

Her interests include family, friends, playing tennis, music, and art.

Marisela quotes, "Life is a song....sing it!"                        

She says, "I am very glad to be part of the Matador Ambassador Program and to help students in any way I can."

 Maura Martinez

Maura is a freshman at AWC and a first-year Ambassador majoring in Finance.

 

 

 

 

Rodney Zarate

Rodney is a freshman at AWC and a first-year Ambassador majoring in Media Arts. He is a graduate of San Pasqual Valley High School. He chose AWC because of family and friends who attended and influenced him to attend himself.

His interests include art, books, computers, and being social.

 

 

Rosa Ortiz

Rosa is a sophomore at AWC and a second-year Ambassador majoring in Psychology. She is a graduate of Yuma High School. She chose AWC because she wanted to experience college and prepare before attending a university.

Her interests include family, friends, meeting new people, and helping people in whatever they need.
