Welcome new Matador! We are so excited that you have decided to begin or continue your academic journey at Arizona Western College!

An important step in the process of beginning your education at AWC is to take part in New Student Orientation. Participating in New Student Orientation will help you become better prepared academically to start your first semester at AWC and to become acquainted with your new campus community.

New Student Orientation consists of two very unique and equally beneficial programs for you to participate in:

All incoming full-time or part-time students are encouraged to attend a Discover AWC session prior to registering for classes. During Discover AWC, you will learn about AWC degrees and certificates, how to interpret assessment/placement test scores, build a course schedule, and register for classes online through WebAdvisor. Before  attending Discover AWC, you should take the placement test and activate your NetID which gives you access to WebAdvisor, Blackboard, and TORO Webmail. Visit the Discover AWC web page for more information and to sign up for a Discover AWC session.

Once you have attended a Discover AWC Session and are registered for classes, your next step is to attend an Explore AWC session. Explore AWC sessions for new students enrolling in spring semester will be offered monthly in November, December, and January. During Explore AWC, you will learn about resources and strategies that support your success as an AWC student. You will have the opportunity to meet other AWC students, locate your classes before the first day, learn about various ways to get involved on campus, and much more! Visit the Explore AWC web page for more information and to sign up for an Explore AWC session.
