Commencement weekend promises to be filled with memorable moments and opportunities to reminisce with your graduate student. Links provided on this page will assist to plan your weekend.

Program Time
The commencement ceremony begins at 8 pm, ending at 10 pm. At that time you are welcome to watch the graduates recess and then join them on the field.
Guest Seating
Arizona Western College requests that all guests remain in their seats during commencement. To accommodate the growing number of graduates and guests in attendance, two (2) jumbotrons (large image screens) will be located on the field facing the east bleachers; for overflow seating and to the west for closer viewing from the guest stands.
During the ceremony guests are not permitted to approach the stage to take photos, present gifts, or congratulate their graduates.
Attire
May temperatures in Yuma can be warm. Dressing accordingly.
Blouses, collared shirts, sweaters, slacks, khakis, skirts, and dresses are appropriate commencement attire.
Assistance
AWC Police, Security Staff, and Student Ambassadors will be on-site directing traffic and assisting guests. If you have questions, be sure to stop and ask! We are here to help you. If you need special assistance, or anyone in your group has special needs, please let us help you. The student ambassadors, police, and security staff are available before, during and immediately after the event.

Flowers and Water
Flowers and water will be available for purchase at the commencement venues. A variety of floral options will be available.
Backpack, smoking and balloons are NOT permitted at Veterans Memorial Stadium or Gila Ridge High School.
