In the final semester of your enrollment, you should apply for graduation. Arizona Western College Policies and Procedures towards graduation are as follows:
Complete Graduation Application for Degree/Certificate:
All required signatures, evaluations, and graduation fee receipt. Submit to the Admissions & Registration Office, no later than 5 pm on the corresponding deadline.
Deadlines for Graduation Applications
Fall Semester: First Monday in November
Spring Semester: First Monday in March
Summer Semester: First Monday in June
Meet the basic requirements for an associate degree/certificate, as listed in the General Program Requirements section of the catalog. Meet with your academic advisor. NOTE: A minimum of a "C" grade and a minimum 2.00 G.P.A. is required for all courses in a certificate or degree program.
Attach a copy of your Degree Audit/Academic Program Evaluation to your application. You may obtain a copy from your Advisor or through WebAdvisor.
Provide official transfer credit documentation including advanced placement credit, military transcripts, CLEP scores, etc.
Pay the non-refundable $15 graduation fee to the Business Services Cashier and obtain the receipt number on the Application for Graduation. There are no fees for Occupational or AGEC Certificates.
Complete the free Learning Outcomes General Education Assessment at the Testing Center. A Testing Services representative must sign Application for Graduation.
You will receive an email from the Admissions & Registration Office alerting you of your eligibility status for graduation. Be sure to follow any direction given to you in completing the graduation process.
Diplomas will be available for distribution four to six weeks after they have been posted to the academic record. Diploma covers are available for pick up from the Admission & Registration Office during the months of May through August.
A Student Information Update Form must be submitted for any address or name change. *You must clear any indebtedness to the college with the Business Services Cashier before the end of the semester you intend to graduate or the diploma will not be released.
Students who have achieved a Grade-Point Average of 3.4 or higher will receive Academic Honors upon completion of a degree.
Highest............3.900 - 4.000
High ................3.600 - 3.899
Distinction........3.400 - 3.599
Additional Degree and/or Major
A maximum of one A.A.S., one A.G.S., one A.A., A.Bus. Degree and diploma will be awarded. A student may earn recognition of an additional major, subject to the following stipulations:
All degree and major requirements must be completed.
Students must apply through the normal graduation application process.
All course work applying towards a degree or certificate must be completed at a 2.0 "C" grade or higher.
