Lunar New Year 2016!
Lunar New Year is one of the largest celebrated holidays in the world. This year we celebrated the year of the sheep (goat) at our annual Lunar New Year festival. Our students prepared delicious, traditional meals and all the attendees feasted. Games were played for the chance to receive a beautiful, red lucky money envelope and many laughs were shared. International students had the great opportunity to teach their American peers about their wonderful culture and many New Year traditions. It was a grand celebration to kick off the new year and we look forward to many to come!
International Education Week
Each year we represent International Education Week on campus. This year we set up informational booths with displays from each country currently represented at AWC. Some of our international students volunteered to work the booths and share stories about their home countries and their experiences in the U.S. The college community learned much from our large displays and our kind volunteers. It was a successful and fun event
