Tony Mitchell, Hall Director/Assistant Football Coach

This is Coach Mitchell's 4th year as a Hall Director and Assistant Football Coach at AWC.  Coach Mitchell is orginally from Chicago, IL and enjoys the sunny warm weather of Yuma!  Coach Mitchell runs the Intramural Program in the spring.

Perry Watts, Resident Assistant

Perry is a 2nd year RA living in the DeAnza all male wing. He enjoys playing basketball and video games.  Perry is an Engineering major and plans to transfer to Prairie View A&M University. Perry is from Las Vegas, NV and has a hat to match every outfit!

Lisa Zvingowaniseyi, Resident Assistant

Lisa Z.(as we often shorten her last name) has come to AWC from Zimbabwe. This is her 2nd year as a RA.  Lisa enjoys educating residents about the environment as she is the RA in the "Go Green" wing and leads the recycling program in the residence halls.  Lisa is the VP of Rotaract, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Honors Program,  and the Cru Club.

Lam Dinh, Resident Assistant

This is Lam's 1st semester as a RA and joins the DeAnza team.  Lam is a Honors member and also an AWC Ambassador, so he is no stranger to the campus or the resources available. 

Demi Hurst, Resident Assistant 

Demi is returning for her 2nd year as a RA and has quickly become one of ResLife's most knowledgeable residents! Demi started as a student worker in the Residential Life Office while she was attending Yuma High School.  Demi enjoys playing games, like Mad Gab and Apples to Apples and hanging out with the residents.

Adriana Cortez, Resident Assistant 

Adriana joins the Garces team this year and is the RA for the CAMP wing.  Adriana, a former CAMP resident, understands the importance of living on campus and getting involved.  Adriana is majoring in Nursing.  

Williams Ozuma, Resident Assistant

Williams is in his first semester as a RA and comes to AWC from Nigera.  Although William is newest member of the RA staff he is quickly learning all the residents of Garces!  William is also a member of the Rotaract Club.

Kyle Carothers,  Hall Director/Assistant Baseball Coach

Coach Carothers is here for his first year as a HD and Assistant Coach.  You will often find Coach Carothers hanging out in the lobbies getting to know students. Kyle also organizes and runs the intramural program in the fall.  

Scott Buster, Resident Assistant

Scott is from Yuma and is here for his 2nd year as a RA. Scott is a 4.0 student and currently studying for the MCATS. Scott enjoys getting to know residents and organizing programs like Country Dancing in the Quad.  Scott is also a part of the CRU club on campus. 

Brooklyn Harris, Resident Assistant

Brooklyn joins the Kino team this semester and comes to AWC after transferring from Yavapai where she was also a RA! She is excited to bring her experience and ideas to the AWC residents.   

Edgar Bettencourt, Resident Assistant

Edgar is in his first year as a RA and is originally from Mongolia. He spent his first year at AWC as the VP of Marketing for Student Government Association and understands our students.  Edgar is an International Business major and enjoys all types of dancing!
