JANUARY 3rd & 4th, 2012
'THE HOUSE'-AWC CAMPUS

Ring in 2012 with the best basketball action in the Desert Southwest!  Seven talented basketball teams from four different states will take over 'The House' on the Arizona Western College campus just after the first weekend of 2012 for the
7th Annual Wells Fargo Classic-
presented by Wells Fargo Bank and Matador Athletics!

In 2011, the Wells Fargo Classic featured a competitive 4-team men's field!

3 of them went to the playoffs, 2 reached their Region Semifinals,
and one of them went all the way to the Region I Finals!

And in 2011, the women's side of the Wells Fargo Classic field featured 3 teams that went to the playoffs, 2 reached their Region Semifinals, and one reached their Region Finals!

This season, we're bringing you another strong eight-team tournament field, with three women's and four men's teams taking the floor each day.
Patrick Cunningham's '11 Region I Finalists, the AWC Lady Matadors, head a strong women's field that includes defending NJCAA Division III National Champion Anoka-Ramsey Community College from Minnesota and the Armenian National Team (ARARAT) that features former AWC Lady Matador star Arpine Amirkhanyan!
Meanwhile, Charles Harral's Matador Men's Basketball team, fresh off their 13th consecutive Region I Playoff appearance, will face tough competition from a men's field that includes:  Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (coached by former longtime AWC Assistant Coach Dustin Grover!), who reached the Region Finals this past March; St. Louis Community College from Missouri, coached by 2011 Region XVI Coach of the Year Randy Albrecht; as well as the first-year program from southern Arizona, Tohono O'odham Community College!

Here's this year's exciting schedule!
