YUMA, AZ – Former center Ivan Uribe of the Matador Men’s Basketball team announced that he has signed his letter of intent to play basketball this upcoming season at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK.
“Ivan improved a great deal in his two years at AWC,” said head coach Charles Harral. “He was a great teammate, as well as a fan favorite. We are proud of him and wish him continued success at Oklahoma Wesleyan University.”
Uribe (Guadalajara, MX) measured in at 6’11” and was a force to be reckoned with in the post. Ivan appeared in 24 games last season with the Matadors, and started five of them. He averaged a couple of points a game as well as five rebounds and close to a block per game.
In Ivan’s freshman year, he appeared in 22 games and average about the same numbers in points and blocks per game.
Oklahoma Wesleyan will benefit immensely from the post presence of Ivan Uribe after finishing last season with their tallest player measuring it at 6’7”. The Eagles participate in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference at the NAIA level.
