AWC stayed focused and battled hard in the second half but outscored South Mountain by just six points on their way to an 81-65 victory.
The Matadors dressed just eight players but were led once again by the hot shooting of their guards. EJ Twyman led all scorers with 24 points on 8-of-18 shooting. Five Matadors scored in double-digits, including Brandon Lovings who is returning from an ankle injury. Lovings finished his night with 16 points and six rebounds on 8-of-11 shooting.
South Mountain was led in scoring by forward Monard Brown who tallied 20 points and four rebounds in the loss.
