YUMA, AZ – The Arizona Western College Matadors fell Saturday to the Phoenix College Bears by a final of 90-87 at “The House” in Yuma.
With the loss, the AWC Matadors drop to 20-6 overall and 14-4 in ACCAC play, while Phoenix improves to 18-8 overall and 12-6 in ACCAC play.

The second half would go in the Bears way as they outscored the Matadors by ten and controlled the final minutes of the game to escape Yuma with a three point victory. Arizona Western shot 50% from the field in the second half, but Phoenix shot even better at 71%.
The Matadors were led in scoring by EJ Twyman who had 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Phoenix was led by their star point guard Brandon Brown who scored 38 points on 14-of-25 shooting with four rebounds.
