It was a battle once again for the Lady Matadors as they had their hands full all afternoon with the Chandler Gilbert Coyotes. After one half of play, AWC lead the Coyotes by a score of 40-37.
“Chandler-Gilbert is a competitive team,” said Lady Matadors head coach Patrick Cunningham.
The second half was just as close, as Chandler outscored the Lady Matadors by three to force overtime. After shooting just 23.5% from the field in the first half, the Coyotes turned things around shooting 38% from the field in the second half.
The first overtime was even throughout as both teams scored 11 points forcing a second overtime.

“It was a challenge tonight, but I am happy we came out with a victory. We have a tough opponent next in Scottsdale and we have to get ready for that test quickly,” said Cunningham.
The Lady Matadors had five players score in double figures and were led by Jazmin Strane’s 22 points.
