YUMA, AZ – The Top 20 National Poll for women’s volleyball was released Wednesday morning by the NJCAA and Arizona Western College moved up a spot from 13th to 12th in the nation following a Wednesday victory over Pima. AWC’s record currently sits at 14-3 overall and 10-2 in ACCAC play.
AWC earned 27 points in the poll this week, three points less than the Paris Junior College which is ranked just above the Matadors at 11th in the most recent volleyball poll. San Jacinto College-Central is ranked just below the Lady Matadors at 13th with three points less than AWC.
State College of Florida in Manatee-Sarasota was the lone team to drop from the rankings this week, after being ranked 17th in last week’s poll. Polk State College moves into the Top 20 replacing State College of Florida in Manatee-Sarasota in this week’s poll, after receiving votes last week.
Three schools are receiving votes, but still are not ranked in the Top 20 and those are State College of Florida in Manatee-Sarasota, Odessa College and Missouri State University in West Plains.
Up next for the Lady Matadors is a home match later this (Wednesday) evening against the Scottsdale Fighting Artichokes. The match is scheduled to begin at 7pm inside of “The House” on the campus of Arizona Western College.
