Matadors Fall From Top 20

YUMA, AZ – The Top 20 National Poll for men’s soccer was released Wednesday morning by the NJCAA and Arizona Western College’s men’s squad were left unranked, but are receiving votes.
 
The Matadors went 1-1 this past week picking up a victory against Scottsdale and then falling to Phoenix College. Overall, the Matadors sit at 8-4-1 and are 7-4-1 in ACCAC play.
 
In this latest release of the poll, four new teams were added; that being Lincoln Land, Barton, Monroe and Laramie County.
 
Fellow ACCAC members that are currently in the top 20 include Yavapai (11-0-2) ranked fourth and Phoenix College (11-1-0) ranked fifth.
 
AWC is joined by Owens C.C., Marshalltown C.C., Harford C.C., ASA College, Johnson County, Georgia Military, Bryant & Stratton College and Mercyhurst North East in other schools receiving votes in this week’s poll.
 
The AWC men will play at Glendale on Thursday at 7pm before returning home to Yuma for a women’s and men’s doubleheader on Saturday October 5th, when the Matadors welcome the Mesa Thunderbirds to town. The women will get things started at 4:30pm followed by the men at 7pm.
