YUMA, ARIZONA – The Top 20 National Poll for women’s volleyball was released Wednesday morning by the NJCAA and Arizona Western College remained ranked 14th in the nation following a 3-0 victory over Imperial Valley last week in their lone game.
AWC earned 21 points in the poll this week, three points less than the College of Central Florida which is ranked just above the Matadors for the third week in a row at 13th in the most recent volleyball rankings.
No teams were dropped from the top 20 this week, just small shuffling throughout the rankings. Panola College fell from third to seventh in the most recent rankings, suffering the largest downfall in this week’s poll.
Five schools are receiving votes, but still are not ranked in the top 20 and those are Lee College, Colby C.C., Hill College, Hutchinson C.C., and Northwest College.
Up next for the Lady Matadors is a home match later this evening against South Mountain Community College. Tonight’s match was originally scheduled to be played in the Phoenix area on South Mountain’s campus, however due to problems at their facility the match was moved here to AWC. The match this evening is scheduled to begin at 7pm inside of “The House” on the campus of Arizona Western College.
