YUMA, ARIZONA – The top 20 rankings for both men’s and women’s soccer were released Wednesday afternoon by the NJCAA and Arizona Western College’s men’s squad remained in the rankings as they fell four spots to 20 overall.
The AWC men remained in the top 20, despite their one goal loss on Saturday at Chandler-Gilbert.
The AWC women remained unranked yet again following this latest release of the polls. Head coach Kenny Dale has led the Lady Matadors to a 5-1 record in their inaugural season.
In this latest release of the top 20 poll for the men, three teams entered the poll for the first time this season, while the former second ranked team Darton State College fell to sixth due to their loss.
Fellow ACCAC members in the top 20 on the men’s send include Yavapai (5-0-0) at four, Phoenix College (6-0-0) at eight, and Pima (4-1-0) at eleven.
On the women’s side, Paradise Valley is ranked number one in the nation and Chandler-Gilbert came in at 13 overall.
Up next for the Matadors and Lady Matadors is a home match tomorrow (Thursday) against Paradise Valley Community College. The women will get things started at 5pm and the men will start at 7:30pm. Both matches will be played at the AWC Soccer Field and admission is free.
