AWC Spirit Team to help kids of all skill levels on Tuesday & Thursday evenings learn the safe way of tumbling

Yuma, Arizona – March 29, 2013 -- Arizona Western College is proud to announce that the Arizona Western College Spring Power Tumbling Clinics will be held each week from April 9th through May 30th at ‘The House’-AWC’s home gymnasium-on the AWC Campus. AWC Head Cheer Team Coach Tiffany Minnick and AWC Assistant Cheer and Tumbling Coach (and certified USAG Coach) Matt Graef will provide expert instruction to kids ages 5-18 of all skill levels. The series of clinics will be held every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon beginning April 9th, with a clinic for beginning and intermediate level tumblers from 5PM until 5:45PM, and one for advanced level tumblers immediately following that at 6PM. The cost of the clinic is $80, which covers the seven-week duration of the clinics.

Minnick and Graef have designed an environment in which safety is the main focus, and will be strongly practiced during each activity, allowing students to develop their skills and improve their techniques at their pace. The coaches will work with every student at every skill level to improve their abilities in tumbling: from the beginner who hasn’t learned any part of the skills yet; to the intermediate-level tumbler who can perform roundoffs, strong backbends and solid cartwheels; to the advanced-level tumbler who knows how to perform back and front walkovers and back handsprings (with light or no spot).
