Nationally renowned voice coach to work with Introduction to Podcasting students

April 18, 2024

Yuma, AZ (April 18, 2024) – Students in the Introduction to Podcasting course at Arizona Western College have an opportunity to learn from a nationally renowned voice coach next week.

Jessica Hansen will travel to Yuma to work with Dr. Trisha Campbell and her students thanks to the sponsorship of GoalBusters and AWC, including Lori Stofft, Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director for the AWC Foundation, and Kathleen Iudicello, Vice President of Learning Services.

“She will be teaching the students how to use their voice fully through their bodies. What she says is that she teaches you to ‘sound like yourself, on your best day, at performance level,’” said Dr. Trisha Campbell, AWC Professor of English. “This is such an incredible opportunity for our aspiring radio voices on the Yuma Campus.”

The class will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 1:30pm in Room 101 of the Learning Resources Building, 2020 S. Avenue 8E. A campus map can be found here

For over eight years, Hansen was the voice of NPR national underwriting credits. Hansen is also a voice coach, working with journalists, hosts, anchors, corporate groups, podcast teams, executives, and more. Prior and current clients include A+E Networks, Academy of Motion Pictures, Netflix, The New York Times, Audible, Univision, NPR, and dozens of its member stations, celebrity podcast hosts, and more. Jessica is passionate about helping people feel “at home in your voice,” especially those voices who have historically been marginalized.
