Abraham Villon Signs With OKC Energy FC
Apr. 7th, 2014
YUMA, AZ – Former Arizona Western College Matador midfielder Abraham Villon signed his first professional contract with the Oklahoma City Energy FC of the USL Pro league.
“Abraham Villon remains one of our top players during the last decade,” said AWC head coach Kenny Dale. “His ability to set up teammates in scoring positions led to the ACCAC and NJCAA Region 1 championships we won in 2010. His play on the flank still serves as a model for young players moving through our program. I believe he will have a great professional career.”
Following his time at AWC, Villon continued his playing career at San Diego State. He had six goals and a team-high seven assists in 2013 after sitting out the 2012 season. He started 17 matches in 2011 and earned second team All-Pac 12 honors.
Abraham Villon has competed for the United States Men’s National Team at the U-15, U-16, U-17, and U-18 levels. He has also played in the USL PDL for the Thunder Bay Chill. He prepped at Garden Grove High School.
The AWC men continue their offseason workouts, but no more pre-season games are scheduled for the remainder of the school year. The Matadors won’t return to regular season action until late August to kick off their 2014 campaign.
