Calling High School and Current AWC Students
Free Summer Engineering Camp Offered at AWC

Yuma, Arizona (June 10, 2013) — Arizona Western College in collaboration with the University of Arizona College of Engineering is offering high school students and current AWC students the opportunity to participate in the tuition-free Summer Engineering Institute 2013 from July 8 to August 2 on AWC’s main campus, 2020 South Avenue 8E in Yuma. Successful completion of the Institute qualifies eligible participants for full scholarship for any course(s) in Fall 2013 up to 5 credit hours required for the Associate in Science (A.S.) in Engineering degree; Scholarships will be limited to the first ten Participants.

The four-week course has been designed to acquaint and motivate a wide range of potential participants to explore exciting learning and professional opportunities that engineering provides. Anyone with an interest in basic problem solving, understanding how things work, helping communities improve quality of life and having fun during the process can benefit by participating in the Institute. The course will cover an understanding of the engineering design process, various disciplines of engineering, educational opportunities and career options in engineering.

Potential participants should have completed at least sophomore level at high school, have a strong desire to succeed in any field and a willingness to explore options for success.

Applications are available at AWC Summer Engineering Institute - 2013, and the deadline to submit it is July 1, 2013.
