Earns place in NJCAA Top 10 for first time in four years

Colorado Springs, CO – September 12, 2012 -- Arizona Western College is proud to announce that the Matador Volleyball team has moved up two spots in the latest NJCAA Division I Volleyball Poll, which was released earlier today. The Matadors-who won four of their five matches over the weekend at the Scottsdale Volleyball Classic-moved up to 9th, which is the first time the Lady Matadors have placed among the NJCAA Top 10 since the 2008 NJCAA Preseason Poll. It’s also the highest ranking that a Jason Smith-coached Matador team has enjoyed during his four-plus years at the helm (in two different stints). The Lady Matadors are also the lone ACCAC Division I representative in the national poll (Glendale is 2nd & Scottsdale is 20th in the NJCAA DII Poll).
