KAWC to Co-host Primary Election Candidate Forum on Monday, July 30 at 6 p.m.


Yuma, AZ (July 23, 2012) — KAWC, Colorado River Public Media and Children’s Action Alliance have partnered to host a primary election candidate forum with State Representative candidates from Yuma’s two legislative districts on Monday, July 30 from 6 to 8:15 p.m. at AWC’s Schoening Conference Center, 3C South Wing on the main campus, 2020 S. Avenue 8E in Yuma.

During two debates moderated by KAWC Morning Edition Host Michelle Faust, attendees can learn where the candidates stand on issues such as health care, education, child care, and support for children and families. From 6 to 7 p.m., discussion will focus on Legislative District 13 Republican candidates for the state House, but from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m., the debate will shift to Legislative District 4 and the Democratic candidates running for the state House.

The LD 4 & 13 Primary Election Candidate Forum is free and open to the public. Audience members will have an opportunity to submit questions to the moderator and to meet the candidates before and after the forum.

The event is sponsored by the Children's Action Alliance, KAWC, Colorado River Public Media, St. Luke's Health Initiatives, Arizona Association of Community Health Centers, Arizona Child Care Association, Arizona Community Action Association, Arizona Counseling & Treatment Services, Arizona Public Health Association, Arizona Children Association, Cenpatico Behavioral Health, Mountain Health & Wellness, The PAPFCO Education Fund and Sunset Community Health Center, Inc.
