Yuma, AZ (January 27, 2010)— Arizona Western College’s Classified Employee Association (CEA) is proud to announce the 9th Annual Classified Employee Association Chili Cook-Off!!! The date for this year’s event is Thursday, February 4th from 11:30am to 1:00pm on the main campus. This year’s theme will be “Tailgate” and CEA is in search of culinary experts and amateurs willing to share their talents! Chefs must provide pots, pans, and barbecues along with whatever additional tricks or treats needed to show their expertise (electricity will be provided.) This is a fun, campus-wide event that gives you the chance to show off your cooking skills!! Please come and join us in the Main lawn, north of the LA building.

The cost is $6 a ticket. This ticket allows the tasters to taste all the chilies and then vote for their favorite by depositing the ticket in the voting can on each contestants table. Then each taster gets a bowl of their preferred chili to enjoy. The $6 also includes a soft drink or water.

For those with a sweet tooth, a wide variety of desserts will also be for sale for $.50 each.

If you are interested in competing in this year’s Chili Cook-Off, we want you! Media Teams are encouraged to participate. Please contact Corrine Gray (928) 344-7519 or email CEA directly at cea@azwestern.edu.

The event goes from 11:30 to 1:00 pm. At that time we will announce the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of this year's event!

"This year we have several cooks from NAU, along with the AWC contributors. The competition heats up," organizer Corrine Gray says of this year's entries.
