In my nearly two decades in the college classroom I'll state unequivocally that student performance is related to a student's attitude about the class. So why not find out what students' attitudes and perceptions are? Not surprisingly, attitudinal surveys (also called affective surveys) come in many forms and address a range of issues of interest to faculty. In general, attitudinal surveys consist of a series of numerically scaled agree or disagree statements that students answer.
