Defining Student Learning Outcomes

Student Learning Outcomes or SLO's are statements of observable and measurable student performance which provide the foundation for the assessment of student learning. "Student will be able to ." They define what a student will be able to do at the end of a learning activity, course, or program.

Assessing Student Learning in Higher Education  - This website(http://www2.bakersfieldcollege.edu/courseassessment/) was developed by Janet Fulks, Professor of Biology at Bakersfield  College. "The underlying philosophy of this website is that assessing learning should be a faculty-driven activity. Learning occurs at many levels and in many venues in higher education, this training specifically targets course and program assessment and to a lesser degree addresses student services assessment"
