Examples of Program Mission Statements at AWC

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Program The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program supports Arizona Western College's mission of offering life long learning opportunities by providing vocational skills with general education learning to traditional and non-traditional students. The Associate of Applied Science degree from Arizona Western College will provide technical and general skills and knowledge for the student to enter and excel in the Hating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R) trade. This course of study helps students develop technical literacy an skills needed to understand the refrigeration process. In addition, students learn to work alone and with others to use creative problem solving techniques required to deal with technical issues. Faculty work to actively extend the learning environment beyond the classroom and include many community partners who assist in learning, and provide employment to our students. Our overall goal is to provide students with the knowledge that is proper, safe, and ethical, in that they may enter and advance in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning/refrigeration trade. 

Business and Liberal Arts Division (BLAD) The Division of Business and Liberal Arts provides dynamic educational opportunities to a diverse population that emphasize skills, knowledge and individual enrichment that will empower the student to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

Dietetics The national certified dietetics program prepares students to manage food servcie operations in a wide variety of organizations including hospitals, schools, spas, and extended care facilities. Students who complete the 2-semester program are elegible to take the Dietary Manager Assocition's national exam and earn the CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) and CFPP (Certified Food Protection Professional) credentials.

Massage Therapy Program The faculty of the Massage Therapy Program upholds the mission of Arizona Western College by supporting educational and lifelong learning needs of the community through innovative partnerships. The faculty is dedicated to (1) providing excellence in massage therapy education and practice, (2) incorporating changes aimed at current and emerging healthcare trends.

Radiologic Technology Program The Radiologic Technology program is a comprehensive competency-based program of study that prepares students to sit for the National Registry Examination offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and allows successful students to graduate with expertise at the entry level in the field of diagnostic radiology. Students will be able to use critical thinking skills, communicate prefessionally, and apply quantitative analytical skills to community-centered professional practice, for the fulfillment of personal goals, or to be eligible for education and training in other specialized diagnostic imaging fields. 

Science, Math and AG Our mission is to promote science, mathematics and agriculture as integral to modern life and essential to the success of evry educated person.

Student Success Center The goal of the Student Success Center is to serve students in a way that promotes their successful completion of courses at Arizona Western College and beyond.
