Arizona Western College Procedure 204.2: Assignment to Committees and Councils.
Purpose: Committees, councils and advisory groups are instrumental to the continued vitality and growth of the College. Committees, councils, and advisory groups are authorized by College policy as recommending bodies for the management and administration of the College.
Procedure: The following standing committees, councils, and advisory groups have been established by the President in accordance with Policy #204. In 2006-07, the assessment committee changed the committee name to LEAP:
LEAP: Learning Excellence Assessment Process Committee
Function: The Learning Excellence Assessment Process (LEAP) Committee provides recommendations to the Vice President for Academic and Student Services through the Dean of Instruction on implementation of the Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Program including annual evaluation and updating of the plan. Meeting Schedule: Monthly during the academic year/as needed. (Procedure 204.1)
Co-Chairs: Director of Assessment and Program Review AND Faculty Member - two year rotating position elected from the membership
LEAP's Mission Statement: Arizona Western College Learning Excellence Assessment Process mission statement is to refine and implement a systematic and sustainable learning outcomes assessment system that demonstrates the ability of the college to provide instruction that equips students to fulfill the College's learning-centered values.
