AWC/NAU-Yuma Environmental Science Program
This program is intended for students pursuing a career in fields such as natural resource management, conservation, science education, waste management, water resources, or graduate school in the sciences. This program is also a 2+2 program affiliated with Northern Arizona University in Yuma where you can complete your associate degree at AWC and then complete a bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences at NAU in Yuma.

ENV 101 - Introduction to Environmental Science
An introduction to the interrelationships of biological, chemical, and geological cycles and their hazards to urbanized societies, and the impact of modern society on Earth's habitats and resources. This course follows a Place-Based learning philosophy and as a result is based on learning about the environment, what you think about the environment and interacting with the environment. As a result, parts of this course will include hiking on rough wild-land trails, working in the hot sun, canoeing in the Colorado River, planting trees, etc
ENV 230 - Foundations of Environmental Science: Humans and the Environment
In this hands-on lab and lecture course, you will be introduced to the scientific methods of investigating and solving ecological problems related to interactions of humans and the environment. This course is also considered a general education course, which also makes it appropriate for non-majors with a strong science interest.
ENV 280 Analytical Methods in Environmental Sciences
This course will focus on analytical methods and instrumentation used in environmental research. Each of the three modules is centered on a research problem water quality, air quality, and waste management.
