Degree Programs

Arizona Western College's Parker Learning Center offers four degree programs and a variety of specialized certificates:

1. Associate of Arts (A.A.) in:

  • General Studies
  • History
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Elementary Education
  • Secondary Education
  • Philosophy
  • Political Science
  • Administration of Justice

 

2. Associate of General Studies (A.G.S)

3. Associate of Business (A.Bus.)

4. Associate of Applied Sciences (A.A.S.) in:

  • General Business
  • Child Development
  • Emphasis in Law Enforcement
  • Casino Management

 

Specialized Certificates

There are many certificates offered each semester. Medical, Computer Specialties, Early Childhood Education, Law Enforcement and Fire Science are just a few of the certificated areas. Check with the office to confirm the dates and times of specific instruction.

Occupational, academic, and enrichment classes are also scheduled throughout La Paz County each semester. Courses are offered during four semesters to take advantage of the excellent weather.

They are the following:

  • Fall (August-December)
  • Spring (January-May)
  • Winter (October-March)
  • Summer (June-July)

Today's innovative technology allows individuals to take high-quality distance learning courses that fit into their personal, work, or family schedules. As a result, La Paz Center offers a number of distance learning courses to meet changing needs of adult learners. These distance-learning modes are available:

  • Interactive Television (ITN)
  • Internet (on line)
  • Telecourses
  • Open-entry / open-exit (computer labs)
  • Mixed Media
  • Cable Educational Channel 75 (offers educational classes and talk shows)

La Paz AWC has many partnerships with the community: Parker Library, Career Center, La Paz Certified School District, The Town of Parker and the County, Quartzsite, Salome, Wenden, and Ehrnberg are just a few.
