examples of courses outlines

A course outline is not the same thing as a course syllabus. Both documents must be made available either electronically via Blackboard or in hardcopy paper form to students on the first day of class.

A course outline is what you create and give to students. It contains basic information about the course, how to contact you, your attendance and cell phone policies, the texts to be used, how the final grade will be computed, how many points are exams and quizzes worth, and so on. Basically you control the content in the course outline.

A course syllabus can be changed but first the proposed changes must be approved by fulltime faculty in the discipline and then by the Curriculum Committee. Click here to view AWC course syllabi.
