Faculty Appraisal 

Overview

Choosing the faculty to be appraised is the responsibility of the Division Chair with the guidance from the Vice President for Learning Services.

During the Fall term, the following faculty members will be appraised:

  • All full-time faculty who were hired in an even-numbered year will be apparaised in even-numbered years; those hired in an odd-numbered year will be appraised in odd-numbered years.
  • All full-time faculty who are still on probation (faculty who have not yet has three consecutive years of full-time employment at AWC).
  • All adjunct faculty who are teaching in either of their first two semesters.
  • All faculty on intensive review.

During the Spring term, the following faculty members will be appraised:

  • All full-time faculty who are still on probation (faculty who have not yet had three consecutive years of full-time employment at AWC).
  • All adjunct faculty.
  • All faculty on intensive review.

 

Faculty Appraisal Committee

AWC uses a homegrown faculty appraisal instrument developed by a committee of faculty members. The Faculty Appraisal Committee (FAC) completed a revision of the instrument and process in Spring 2011.

Faculty Appraisal Handbook

Click here for the latest revision of the Faculty Appraisal Handbook (FAH). A main task of the FAC for 2015-2016 is to update the current FAH. 

 

Tk20

Student evaluation of full-time and adjunct faculty will move in two phases to an online appraisal software system. The software platform to be used for the online student evaluation of faculty is Tk20.

*: Applicable only to students who have not completed and submitted an online faculty evaluation via Tk20 as of April 13 at 6:59am.
