What can you do with this degree?
This degree program is designed for students who are pursuing a career in biological sciences. Biology is a multi-faceted field that includes medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary science, wildlife biology, microbiology, cell biology, and molecular genetics.

What will you learn in this program?
This program will help you prepare for transfer to the university. You will learn basic biology including microbiology, genetics, and molecular biology.

What kinds of classes can you look forward to in this program?

General Biology
You will learn the principles of structure and function of living things at the molecular, cellular and organism levels of organization.

Genetics and Evolution
In this 3-credit course you will learn the fundamental concepts of inheritance, including genetic and chromosomal character determination.

Cellular and Molecular Biology
You will learn the organization and function of biological molecules, cell diversity, cell structure and function, and cell interaction and differentiation.

How long will it take you to complete this degree?
Taking classes full-time, you can complete this 65-credit degree in four semesters. This program is part of the 2+2 program in Biology at NAU where you complete the first two years of course work at AWC and continue to your BS degree in Biology at NAU-Yuma
