Agriculture, Occupational Certificate


What can you do with this certificate?

The need for well-trained entry-level agricultural technicians has greatly increased. This certificate will help you obtain an entry-level position within the field.

What will you learn in this program?
You will take classes to learn more about various agricultural principles involving
business, plants, soils, and animals.

What kinds of classes can you look forward to in this program?


Animal Industries
This class will teach you about the livestock and poultry industries, which will
include applications of scientific principles, marketing, and selection.

Plant Science
In this class you will learn the importance of plant science in agriculture. The class will also cover the study of germination, emergence, growth, and reproduction of important economic species; and how these plant processes are influenced by the environment, such as soil-water-plant relations.

Soils

You will learn the fundamental principles of soil science, the origin, nature and classification of soils, the chemical, physical and biological properties in relation to growth and nutrition, and problems of saline soils.

How long will it take you to complete this certificate?
Taking classes full-time, you can complete this 32-credit certificate in two semesters.
