What can you do with this degree?

This degree will help you obtain an entry-level drafting position.

What can CTE programs do for you?

Career Technical Education programs allow students to develop skills in career technical areas leading to employment or improved employment opportunities. Programs such as Industrial Graphics, Drafting and Architectural Technology incorporate a variety of skills such as use of state of the art computer technology, design software and understanding of building codes just to name a few.

What will you learn in this program?

You will learn job entry-level skills as identified by educators and American industry, including manufacturing and construction.

What kinds of classes can I look forward to?

Industrial Graphics–Drafting

You will learn the role the graphic language plays in the conception/analysis for the communication of ideas for industry. Drafting standards/conventions and the methods of graphic preparation are stressed.

Construction Graphics–Drafting

This lecture/lab course will cover the basic principles and specific practices related to areas of construction in understanding architectural design, symbols, abbreviations, terminology, and interpreting material usage. You will develop a complete set of working drawings for a single-family dwelling, and how to communicate your ideas

Plane Surveying

You will learn the fundamentals of plane surveying, theory use and adjustment of the tapes, engineer’s level, compass, and transit. The applications of surveying methods to problems of leveling, line direction, measurement of angles, measurement of distance, and transverse computations.

How long will it take to complete this degree?

Taking classes full time, you can complete this 64-credit degree in four semesters.
