What will I learn in this program?
You will be prepared to take the certification exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Typical Classes:
Basic Radiographic Procedures
In this course you will be introduced to radiographic positioning terminology, the proper manipulation of equipment, positioning and alignment of the anatomical structures and evaluation of images for proper demonstration of basic anatomy and related pathology.
Radiographic Anatomy and Physiology
You will relate basic human anatomy and physiology to the various images. The localization and identification of human anatomy on the radiographic image will be emphasized.
Principals of Radiographic Imaging
During this class you will study the physics of x-ray production, basic x-ray circuits, digital and computerized radiography, and the relationship of equipment components to the imaging process.
Time to completion, taking classes full-time:
Taking classes full-time, you can complete this 82-credit degree in six semesters.
Career Options:
This degree program will prepare you for a career in diagnostic medical imaging. You can work in hospitals, clinics, and other health care agencies.
