What can you do with this degree?
This program meets the requirements for the state certification as a Massage Therapist. You will be prepared to work in a private massage practice or work in collaboration with other healthcare field professionals. You decide your area of interest, whether you would like to work within the medical arena, in a spa setting, corporate setting, or be self-employed. The Associate in Applied Science in Massage Therapy includes the certificate requirements and completion of the general education courses.

What will you learn in this program?
In this program, you will learn the essential skills to become a massage therapist. You will be able to focus on the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the individual while providing the philosophical foundation and technical skills required to perform therapeutic massage.

What kinds of classes can you look forward to in this program?

Introduction to Aromatherapy
You will learn the physiology of aromatherapy; methods of use; preparation of oils; uses in sports, beauty care, massage, childcare, healthcare, at work, and in the home.

Spirit In Motion
You will learn the elements that influence physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness; techniques for body/mind healing; self-awareness and self-healing and energetic dynamics of human relationships.

Introduction to Massage Therapy and Bodywork Modalities
You will explore the history benefits and indications of massage and alternative health therapies. Different strengths and limitations are addressed using evaluation in light of the legal requirements for practice.

How long will it take you to complete this degree?
Taking classes full-time, you can complete this 64-credit degree in four semesters.
